A Liberian athlete has etched their name into the history books at the West African Games after delivering a record breaking performance that has the entire nation celebrating and looking forward to the future of athletics in Liberia.The performance came during the athletics competition at the games which brought together the finest sporting talent from across the West African region. Competing against some of the best athletes on the continent, the Liberian representative showed tremendous courage, preparation and determination to achieve a result that will be remembered for years to come.Back home in Monrovia the reaction was one of pure joy and national pride. Social media was flooded with messages of congratulations from ordinary Liberians, government officials and fellow athletes who all expressed their delight at the historic achievement.The Liberia National Olympic Committee praised the athlete’s dedication and commitment saying the result is proof that Liberia has the talent and the potential to compete at the highest levels of international sport.
